Man injured in light aircraft crash at Shropshire beauty spot

A man suffered minor cuts after a small plane he was in crashed near a Shropshire beauty spot.

An air ambulance was sent to the crash

Emergency crews rushed to the Long Mynd near Church Stretton after reports that a light aircraft crash-landed shortly after 4.30pm on Tuesday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three engines, including the foam pod and a rescue tender, from Bishops Castle, Church Stretton and Craven Arms.

An operations officer also attended the scene at Midland Gliding Club, but when they arrived there was no fire and one male was already out of the plane.

A Midlands Air Ambulance and the police also attended.
