Youth worker recognised as community champion as Oswestry mayor launches new award
Oswestry's Mayor has launched a new initiative, handing out Community Champion Awards before council meetings.
An Oswestry-based group of growers, farmers and food providers is forming an innovative collective to encourage people to buy food produced within five miles of the town.

Shropshire's largest market town, Oswestry is well known for having a mixed English and Welsh heritage, being five miles from the Anglo-Welsh border. The town also boasts a host of vibrant independent stores, coffee shops and a high number of public houses per head of population - there are around 30. Oswestry is also home to one of the most spectacular and best preserved Iron Age hill forts in Britain - Old Oswestry.
