Gibsons has been put for sale along with neighbouring buildings with an £800,000 price tag

A bar and nightclub has been put on the market again as the owner looks to retire.

The home of Gibsons in Oswestry along with a group of neighbouring buildings are now being marketed for £800,000.

The news comes 18-months after it was last put up for sale with the same price tag.

The club, now known as Gibbo's, has been brought to market as owner John Gibson is looking to retire however the venue remains open and it is business as usual in the meantime.

In a post on social media, the business said: "The management of Gibbo's wants to reassure everyone that we are open as normal.

"The business will be unaffected by any future sale and all bookings will go ahead as planned."

An online listing by estate agency Sydney Phillips says the portfolio comprises a mix of commercial and residential buildings on a site fronting New Street and Willow Street.

The bar and nightclub would be transferred over as a going concern as part of any sale.

There is also a shop producing a rent of £6,000 per year and a pair of two-bedroom houses with annual combined rental income of £15,000, all of which are on separate titles.

There is also a dilapidated barn which the agency says has "scope for further development".

In total, the site extends to approximately 0.28 acres and provides three separate rental incomes. The total freehold investment is on offer for £800,000 and comprises the freehold properties and trade furniture, fixture, fittings and effects of the nightclub only.

The agency's listing said: "The property has been owned by our clients since 1985.

"They originally operated Gibsons as a late night venue which always traded extremely successfully.

"However, more recently the property was let to an independent third party on a traditional pub company style lease and therefore no trading accounts are available.

"Our clients have recently commenced re-operating the nightclub since the tenants vacated late last year. Our clients now wish to sell in order to retire."
