Seven new homes planned for 'redundant' historic barns at north Shropshire farm
The development would provide a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes
Plans to restore and convert several north Shropshire farm buildings into seven new homes have been submitted to the local authority.
Stag Bespoke Developments Ltd have submitted plans to renew permission to convert historic farm buildings at Woodstyle Farm, near Grinshill, into homes.
The plans would see several traditional brick barns at the farmstead, off the A49 between Shrewsbury and Whitchurch, transformed into seven new homes.
Similar proposals were submitted and approved in 2023, but planning permission lapsed in June this year.

According to a planning and design statement prepared by David Parker Planning Associates, the revised plans largely follow the previously approved scheme, with minor changes to the internal layouts and external appearance of some buildings.
The development would provide a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties, the largest of which would occupy the former stables and granary.
The planning statement says the traditional farm buildings are approaching the end of their useful life for modern agricultural purposes and are beginning to fall into disrepair.
It concludes that converting the barns would preserve the character of the historic farmstead and secure a long-term use for buildings that are otherwise becoming dilapidated.
The full application, which is open for public consultation until November 12, is available to view online on Shropshire Council’s planning portal using reference number 26/03862/FUL.
