A town council has explained why it hasn’t commented on its mayor’s conviction for drink driving.

A small town on the Welsh border with south Shropshire, Clun has been named by the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England as one of the most tranquil locations in England. Popular with walkers, it sits on the Offa's Dyke path and boasts its own ruined castle that towers above the town. Every year the town hosts a unique Green Man Festival to welcome the spring.
