After a mild and stormy October weather patterns are returning to normal, weather forecasters say, meaning temperatures are falling to what we would normally expect for November.

And winds coming down from the Artic will bring polar air to Scotland and the north of England, although Shropshire looks like escaping the really cold temperatures, for the time being at least.

Those out on Halloween will see after dark temperatures of about 8C but, if you are going to a bonfire at the weekend it could go down to just four degrees.
