Six towns backed by Shropshire Council have applied to be the UK Town of Culture - is yours one of them?
Six towns in the county have been backed by Shropshire Council as they throw their hats into the ring to be named UK Town of Culture 2028.


Split into Low Town and High Town, there are sights to see from each. The historic Cliff Railway links the two, the oldest and steepest electrical operational cliff railway in England. Home to cobbled streets and a four-legged town hall, this historic market town is filled with independent traders and award winning flowers.
