Oswestry's new Home Bargains store will open next week – making it the third major business to launch in the town in the space of a week.
Staff will receive shop- floor training from Monday, with the Bailey Street store opening its doors to the public for the first time on July 25.
Store bosses hope the opening, and the employment of 30 staff, will signal the start of the town's recovery from the effects of the recession.
The opening will come just days after the launch of the new Buffers Restaurant at Oswestry's former railway station, which is due to take place tomorrow, and the opening of the new Morrisons supermarket, which will be launched on Monday.
Almost 120 new jobs have been created by the triple economic boost.
Joe Morris, operations director at TJ Morris, the company which owns the Home Bargains chain, said he was delighted the firm was opening in Oswestry.
