Appeal for crash witnesses

Police are calling for witnesses after a teenager was left with serious head injuries in a crash near Oswestry.

A black, Ford Fiesta Zetec left the road, collided with a gate and overturned in the crash that happened around 4am on Sunday.

The accident happened on the Tref Ar Clawdd road between Morda and Trefonen, near Stone House with the car travelling from Oswestry towards Treflach.

The driver of the Zetec - a 19-year-old man - was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He had to be cut from the wreckage of the car by firefighters. The passenger - a 20-year-old man - received treatment for minor injuries.

West Mercia police say enquiries are currently ongoing but officers would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicle and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision.
