Oswestry Goldsmiths clock restored to its former glory
A landmark has been restored to its former glory after receiving extensive restoration.

The clock which hangs above Oswestry Goldsmiths in Church Street, was reinstalled on Sunday, having spent the last year being refurbished.
It has been a feature of Church Street since it was placed above the store in 1927, which was then owned by Northern Goldsmiths.
The landmark timepiece has a sister clock located in Newcastle.
In 2011, Oswestry Goldsmiths became the new owners of the store and commissioned the refurbishment of the clock, which has been restored to its original state with the only exception being that the dial now has Oswestry Goldsmiths on it.
Prior to it being refurbished the lights in the clock no longer worked.
Smith of Derby, which handled the restoration, is the same company which was responsible for restoring the historic clock above Prezzo restaurant, also situated in Church Street.
The restoration of the clock coincides with the two-year anniversary of Oswestry Goldsmiths taking over the store.
Owner Annette Broderick said: "We are really proud to have the clock. It's a part of Oswestry and we hope by restoring it we can give something back to the town".
Manager Steve Elson added: "I think the clock is part of the character of the street and reflects the tradition of the town".
Keeping with tradition Oswestry Goldsmiths had a workshop installed on site where Annette's son Adam restores jewellery.
