Four Crosses continue top Mid Wales form with comfortable victory

Four Crosses picked up a comfortable victory in the MMP Central Wales League North - as they put three goals without reply past Llanfyllin Town.

The home side had enjoyed a good start to the season but have struggled as late and were no match for the Foxon Manor side.

Rueben Closlett-Hughes put the visitors ahead early on but on the half hour mark they were reduced to ten men when Ben Dawson was shown a straight red card.

However, they increased their lead on the hour mark when Ben Simms fired home from the spot - before Joe Wilkinson completed the scoring 16 minutes from time.

In the only other game in the north division - Abermule were beaten 5-1 on the road at Tywyn.

Veteran striker Nick Williams bagged a brace in what turned out to be a comfortable victory for the home side.

In the Montgomeryshire Amateur League, Four Crosses and Llanrhaeadr Reserve teams played out an eight goal thriller - with a last minute equaliser salvaging a point for the Waterfallmen.

Four Crosses twice pegged the visitors back in the first half with the match finely poised at 2-2.

The home side then twice went in front in the second half - before Carwyn Howell netted in the 90th minute to earn a point for the visiting side.

Elsewhere, Llanfechain and Waterloo drew 3-3 while Newcastle were held to a 2-2 draw with Waterloo Reserves.
