Head coach Kenny Jackett has held talks with the Scotland international this week in a bid to regain his previous form.

It comes at a time when 40-year-old marksman Kevin Phillips says he will be leaving Crystal Palace in January – and Jackett has not ruled out a move for him. Phillips has a son in the Molineux club's academy.

Griffiths has four young children in Scotland and, by arrangement with the club, has been given special time off during the season to go north and see them.

The 23-year-old has been taken off 13 times in 20 League games so far this season. But Jackett said there are no issues with fitness or family.

"It's just in those particular games I probably wanted to bring some fresh legs on to get back into a game or, tactically, to protect a lead.

"His family situation isn't something that will impact on his football because it's well-organised off the field," added Jackett.
