Wolves bid to beat loan deadline for Craig Davies
Wolves were today being linked again with a fresh move for Bolton striker Craig Davies in a beat-the-deadline move to boost their attacking options.
The 27-year-old former Molineux loan forward is out of favour at the Reebok, where boss Dougie Freedman yesterday signed Cardiff attacker Joe Mason on loan until January.
Wolves have until 5pm today to loan players in or out before the window closes until January 1.
Davies was heavily linked with a move to Wolves in the summer to join his former Bolton team-mate Sam Ricketts, but head coach Kenny Jackett dismissed the speculation.
But sources in the north west today insisted Davies was set for a reunion at Molineux, where he failed to score in 23 league outings in 2006-07 on loan from Italian club Verona before joining Oldham in a permanent deal.
So far this season he has made just one Championship start plus six outings as substitute and no goals.
The Burton-on-Trent born Wales international has scored 77 goals in 299 League appearances. He moved to Bolton from Barnsley for £300,00 last January.
