No Wolves return for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake says boss Kenny Jackett

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett today ruled out a return for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake after the striker began training again.

The 27-year-old forward has been continuing his rehabilitation at Compton after suffering a broken leg and ankle ligament damage in the 3-2 win at Birmingham on April 1.

Ebanks-Blake is still without a club after his contract at Wolves expired in June. Crystal Palace and Ipswich have been linked with moves for him. But until his fitness is proved, the striker cannot resolve his future.

Ebanks-Blake, who scored 64 goals in 193 games for Wolves after arriving for £1.5m in January 2008, will attract interest from the Championship and possibly the lower end of the Premier League when fully fit.

But Jackett has ruled out a Wolves return. "We wouldn't be looking at a deal for Sylvan," said Jackett.

"I just feel I don't particularly want to go back to the former players.

"It would be nice to bring new, fresh players in.

"Sylvan is still here having treatment and has been in on a regular basis. I'm not sure of the timeframe as to when he'll be fully fit again. He was outside again last Friday running."

Jackett wants to continue to promote the club's academy graduates, supplemented by young, hungry players from elsewhere.
