Kenny Jackett: Wolves will show class for Peter Broadbent
Kenny Jackett today vowed tonight's tribute to the late, great Peter Broadbent will show the class of Wolves.
The Molineux men host Notts County in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the crowd will be invited to join a minute's applause for Broadbent, who is recognised as the club's most naturally gifted player of all time.
"Recognition of former players and big personalities and big people around the football club shows class," said head coach Jackett.
"That's going to be adhered to tonight and rightly so. That team he played in was a very prominent one in the history of Wolves and football.
"For a club to have such a big, extensive and far-reaching history is fantastic and should be respected.
"He'll be very well appreciated and remembered at Molineux this evening."
As Molineux remembers Broadbent, who enjoyed a successful spell at Shrewsbury in 1965-66, Jackett will put the accent on youth.
"It opens up opportunities and for me to see whether these people can come in later in the season, do well and compete with the players in the first team," said Jackett. "There are a lot of good young players here and over the next couple of seasons, we'll see a number of them come through."
