Wolves players given transfer reality check
Wolves full-back Matt Doherty today claimed his team-mates may struggle to find new clubs this summer because of the double-dip relegation.
Christophe Berra, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Stephen Hunt, Sam Winnall and Marian Kello are out of contract and free to leave, while the club have 12-month options on George Elokobi, Dave Edwards and Leigh Griffiths, who face anxious waits to see if they are offered new terms.
Loanees Jack Robinson, Kaspars Gorkss and Slawomir Peszko have returned to Liverpool, Reading and Cologne respectively.
Doherty said: "Players will leave the club over the summer, but I don't think as many will leave as people are expecting.
"Back-to-back relegation may force other clubs to ask if they really want to sign any of our players. It doesn't look good on the CV when you've been relegated and then relegated again."
Meanwhile, Player of the Year Bakary Sako has been linked with Villa, Norwich and Fulham.
The 25-year-old, who cost £3m-plus last summer, is sure to be a target for Premier League and top Championship clubs after 10 goals in his debut season in England.
