Matt Jarvis is set to play in tomorrow's Championship opener at Leeds as the transfer sagas that have dominated Wolves' pre-season hit deadlock.
The wantaway winger is in boss Stale Solbakken plans for the lunchtime televised clash at Elland Road after Wolves turned down West Ham's £6.5m bid for him yesterday.
But Steven Fletcher, who has seen bids of up to £13m from Sunderland rejected, will not be risked because of his ankle injury.
"Matt Jarvis will be involved – but I said the same this time last week!" said Solbakken.
"Fletcher won't be involved and that has nothing to do with the transfer. He only completed his first session yesterday, so we must see if there's any reaction. He won't be part of it."
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce said of the Jarvis deal: "It's stuck. "We've got to try to agree something with Wolves." Solbakken said the wantaway stars also now have to be prepared to stay.
"Of course they should, that's football," he said. "What other option would they have? Whether it's likely I don't know."
Solbakken said both players had responded well in training this week.
"Matt's OK. He's trained really well this week," added the boss. "But I'm not prepared to say everything's fine because there are players here who want to play somewhere else.
"Maybe not all of them can have their way, but if we lose Fletcher and Jarvis, it's impossible to find the same quality."
Solbakken admitted he can't control fans' feelings after they booed Christophe Berra – who is also seeking to leave – last week.
"I can't give a message to the fans," he said. "As long as the players are here I'll handle them the same. If I think Berra can do a good job I'll play him."
