Wolves' Boxing Day clash at Arsenal was today under threat because of a proposed Tube drivers' strike.

It is understood Arsenal will postpone the match and re-arrange it for Tuesday, December 27 at 3pm if the planned industrial action for Monday hasn't been called off by tomorrow night.

Arsenal and Chelsea, who host Fulham on the same day, will await the outcome of talks between Aslef, the Tube drivers' trade union, and London Underground, as well as its legal challenge against the planned strike before making a decision.

The case will be heard in the High Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today vowed to keep faith with below-par striker Kevin Doyle ahead of tonight's Molineux clash with Norwich.

The Ireland international has suffered his first dip in performances since his £6.5m move from Reading two-and-a-half years ago.

Doyle hasn't scored in six games and has netted just twice in 15 Premier League appearances this season, after nine in 2009-10 and five last season.

His luck was summed up in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Stoke when he scored an own goal trying to block Robert Huth's controversially-awarded free kick for the equaliser.

Asked before tonight's crucial home game against Norwich if he would be keeping faith with him, McCarthy said: "Yes, and I have done. Of course we hope it turns for him.

"We haven't created a lot of chances for him but he's always wholehearted – he puts everything he's got into the games.

"Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has come on and benefitted from someone else's shift such as Kevin's, but it's just not been happening for him of late."

McCarthy said Doyle remained 'low maintenance' but just needed a goal.

"He's alright – he comes in and trains fine," said the boss.
