Michael Kightly today delivered the news all Wolves fans want to hear when he declared: "I'm ready to play against Villa".
The winger sailed through his third comeback game in the reserves last night, playing 82 minutes of a 2-1 defeat against Bolton at AFC Telford.
And the 25-year-old insisted he is ready for a taste of the Premier League from the bench at Villa Park on Saturday to end his 15-month injury hell.
"I definitely feel fit enough to come off the bench and it would be nice to play against Villa," said Kightly. "The boys are doing really well at the minute so I wouldn't have thought the gaffer will be changing the starting XI.
"But if I could come off the bench and help the team, then that would be great.
"We've got a few injuries, so I might sneak on the bench on Saturday."
Kightly believes he is ready to play a real part in the nine-match run-in.
"I definitely feel ready to play a part we're being very cautious about not over-doing things, but I feel I can play some part in every game," he said.
"I feel like I'm ready to do that and now it's down to the gaffer."
Although he has tested himself as much as possible in action, Kightly believes he could last longer. In each of the three games, I've felt like I could have played a little bit more."
