The Bucks have sold more than half of their 1,000 allocation for the game at Ashton Gate, after tickets went on general sale yesterday morning.

They expect to have completely sold out by the middle of the week.

Managing director Lee Carter has been delighted with the response, after fans called from far and wide to snap up tickets for the second-round tie.

He said: "I've spoken to one family, who have members based in Cheshire and Hampshire and they are going to have a big reunion at Ashton Gate.

"I always find it strange that clubs at the top level don't place much emphasis on the cup. For me, there is nothing that gets the blood pumping like a big cup-tie."

The game, on Sunday December 7, will be Telford's first at this stage since the club was reformed 10 years ago.

At present, the Bucks expect to take 10 coachloads of supporters down the M5, though their allocation is unlikely to increase because of Ashton Gate's current redevelopment.

Carter added: "This has been an occasion we have been waiting 10 years for.

"There are probably going to be people there who have not seen us play in that time, who were maybe at Crewe with the old club and places like that."

"The money we gain from this run will help us to compete.

"If you put it into context, the money we got from the first-round win over Basingstoke was the same we would get from four straight home games with Forest Green."

Tickets priced at £12 for adults, £8 for seniors, £5 for under-22s and £1 for under-12s are on sale from the AFC Telford Learning Centre or via phone on 01952 640064.

There is a £3.50 booking fee per telephone order.
