Wolves players reckon Michael Mancienne should be thrown straight in for his England debut against Germany on Wednesday.
Mancienne's shock call-up by Fabio Capello for the friendly in Berlin is largely believed to be to give the 20-year-old a taste of the international set-up.
But the players who have watched the on-loan Chelsea defender at first hand since his arrival on loan at Molineux believe he should be handed his chance now.
Carlos Edwards, who set up both goals in Wolves' 2-1 win at Southampton on Saturday, said: "Fabio Capello should have a look at him because he's England class.
"I rate him as one of the best young centre-halves of his generation and I can see big things happening for him in the future.
"I can see him in a full England shirt and hopefully playing in Europe.
"I rate him very highly – he's come here not just to prove a point but to get games under his belt and he's proved he's one to reckon with and he's one for the future."
Defensive partner Richard Stearman said Mancienne's call-up hadn't surprised him – after claiming the sky's the limit for the 20-year-old's talent.
"He's certainly worthy of it. Mike told me on Friday that he was on standby for the squad and I was delighted for him.
"I knew myself previously how good he was so it's not that great a surprise to me. I don't think there's a limit to how good he can become.
"He came here looking for games and he's proving just how much of a good player he is. But it's good for the rest of the under-21s to see that if you're playing well, Mr Capello will give you a chance.
"Hopefully he gets the chance to play because it wouldn't just be great for Mike, but for Wolves as well.
"We've conceded fewer since Mike's arrival and that's something we've been looking to do for a while."
