That leaves the creative Davies relishing the chance to return to his former stomping ground for the first time - but he is clear on his sole purpose.

"It is my first time back there and some people might make a big thing of it," he said.

"But the main priority for me is to go there and try and help put in a good team performance and get a win.

"It was disappointing to be left out for the Chester game in my first season here.

"The manager had his reasons why he left me out and I had to go along with them at the time.

"But all that is in the past now and I'm just focused and trying to help us get a result.

"I expect to get booed, but that is part and parcel of going back to your former club and that is up to them (Chester fans)."

Chester enter the clash with renewed confidence after following up three straight League Two defeats by accumulating seven points from the last nine on offer.

"They have had some good results recently and have got the likes of Ryan Lowe and Kevin Ellison who can cause problems going forward," added Davies.

"We are full of confidence after scoring seven last week but you still only get three points for that so we have be ready for Sunday's game."
