The ID. Roomzz previews an all-electric SUV

Volkswagen has given a glimpse of its new electric full-size SUV – the ID. Roomzz.

Unveiled ahead of its full reveal at the Shanghai Motor Show in two weeks’ time, the concept is another entry into Volkswagen’s growing ID. family of electric vehicles.

The sixth entry into the line-up of electrified cars, it follows on from the ID., the ID. Crozz, the ID. Buzz, the ID. Vizzion and the ID. Buggy.

Klaus Bischoff, Chief Designer at the Volkswagen brand, said: “The I.D. Roomz shows us what we can expect from full-size electric SUVs in the future. The puristic look emphasizes the clear function and the user experience is intuitive and natural.”

The car is packed with technology, and features new seat configurations, a ‘customisable light’ and a new ID. Pilot mode, which is capable of delivering Level 4 autonomous functions.

This means the vehicle can driver itself without an ‘active driver’. The new model will be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, which opens its doors from April 16 to April 24.

Volkswagen states that this electric SUV will arrive in Chinese markets first of all in 2021, before being offered in other markets later on.
