Road blocked after tree crashes down on top of lorry near Shrewsbury
A tree came crashing down onto a lorry this afternoon.
The incident happened on the A488 at Hope Valley, near Minsterley, at around 3.30pm. It is understood the driver of the lorry is unhurt, but the road has been closed since it happened.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area.
A spokesman said: "The A488 in Shropshire is currently blocked in both directions due to a fallen tree. It will be closed between Minsterley and Bishops Castle as a vehicle will need to be recovered.
"Long delays expected. Please plan another route."
