Hill-bagger Jeff, 70, celebrates conquering all 1,000ft peaks in Shropshire and beyond
An intrepid 70-year-old hill climber says his greatest challenge in conquering all 633 of central England's 1,000-foot-plus peaks came in Shropshire.

A well known sight in Shropshire, Stiperstones is a quartzite ridge formed some 480 million years ago. During the last Ice Age the summit stood out above the glaciers and was subject to constant freezing and thawing. It is also the location of the creepily named Devil's Chair and is a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a haven for bird watchers and wildlife fans.
