Chirk Castle to stay shut tomorrow with high winds predicted

A borderland tourist attraction has decided to close ahead of forecast high winds.

Chirk Castle has announced that it will re-open as soon as it can.

In a statement on social media, a spokesperson for Chirk Castle said on Monday: “We're closed.

“With high winds forecast, we will be closed tomorrow, 31 December. We will reopen as soon as we can.”

Transport for Wales has warned passengers to look out for short-notice changes or cancellations.

A spokesperson for the train operator said: “Weather warnings for wind and rain are in place from Tuesday, December 31 until New Year's Day.

“This may result in short-notice changes or cancellations.

“Please check the latest weather forecast and service updates before travelling.”
