Burwarton Show celebrates profit of £39,000
One of Shropshire's largest one-day agricultural shows made a profit of nearly £40,000 last year.
The Burwarton Show committee revealed its success at the annual meeting.
Treasurer Rob McCabe, presented the financial results for the 2015 event and said that the surplus was good at approximately £39,000.
He said: "The committee has decided to invest most of this into the purchase of crowd barriers and hurdles. This will make the setting up of the show much easier in the future."
Plans to celebrate 125 years of the Burwarton Show were outlined to members at the annual meeting on January 18 by chairman, Mike Bradbury and vice-chairman Mary Williams.
Mr Bradbury said: "After an excellent show with a good financial outcome, plans are in hand to provide an enhanced programme of main ring entertainment."
Dr Geoffrey Davies was elected as vice president for the 2016 show. He said: "I am delighted to be elected and look forward to working with Society Members in the coming year."
