Rory is new CAAV chairman
Rory Galliers has been elected chairman of the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire branch of the CAAV (Central Association of Agricultural Valuers).
Rory Galliers has been elected chairman of the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire branch of the CAAV (Central Association of Agricultural Valuers).
A partner at Balfours, property professionals, Rory has practiced rural estate land management for 12 years, having studied at Harper Adams University College.
Today in addition to managing a number of rural estates in the Midlands and Wales, he provides advice on development and building schemes, with a particular interest in planning, development and affordable housing in rural areas.
He is also part of the highly popular Balfours pie and pint presentation team who are currently touring the county providing free evenings for farmers and landowners to come and discuss the implications of passing over their businesses to the next generation.
"I am delighted to take the chair of the CAAV local branch. Agriculture has changed beyond recognition in the past 30 years, but more importantly has adapted to significant economic changes within the past 10 years.
"To this end the branch provides an excellent forum where members can exchange ideas and gain first hand information on trends and current issues, giving opportunity to grasp new prospects."
Rory is not only capable of thinking outside the box, but living there too. He lives in a converted Signal Box on the Shrewsbury to Chester railway line with wife Suzanne and their baby daughter.
