Motorcylist dies in crash with minibus on A489 near Newtown
A man has died following a crash involving a minibus and a motorcycle on the A489 near Newtown, Powys.
The accident happened between Sarn and Kerry just before 9am today (Sunday).
The busy road was closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the accident.
Dyfed Powys police said the crash involved two vehicles, one was a motorcycle ridden by a 49-year-old man, and the other vehicle was a mini bus with three people on board.
"Tragically the 49-year-old who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision," a spokesman said.
"The three people on board the minibus were not injured but taken to hospital as a precaution."
The road was closed until about 4pm while specialist officers carried out an investigation to establish the cause of the collision. Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact Sergeant Chris Neve in the Roads Policing Unit by calling 101.
