Thomas Telford School nursery, in Telford, was due to be closed between March 28 and April 22 for refurbishment.
But parents said they had not been given enough time to arrange alternative childcare – and the nursery has now decided to defer the work to the summer.
Kirsty Smallman, from Lawley Village in Telford, who has two children at the nursery, said: "We are extremely pleased that following complaints from parents the refurbishment has been deferred. It has been an extremely stressful few days."
