Officers from Kingdom Security dished out 31 tickets in Chirk North, while there was a further eight in Chirk South in July – a drop of seven tickets compared to figures recorded in June.

Since April, Wrexham County Borough Council has used the environment protection firm to clean up towns in the area and fine people for littering and dog fouling. Over the past month enforcement officers have been out on foot early in the morning and later at night in an effort to crackdown on dog fouling.

Councillor David Bithell, the authority's lead member for environment and transport, said: "I'm glad to see that patrols are being carried out earlier in the morning and later in the evening in a bid to catch dog walkers who fail to pick up after their pets. We want to continue to press on with this."
