The cadets celebrated the 75th anniversary of the national Air Cadet organisation with a parade through Whitchurch.

The parade was followed by a service of celebration and re-dedication in St Alkmund's Church. The cadets, aged between 12 and 18, paraded along Whitchurch High Street.

The salute was taken by Wing Commander Griffin, commanding officer of West Mercian Wing Air Cadets and the town Mayor Mike MacDonald.

The organisation boasts a cadet membership of 42,000 and a royal Patron in the Duchess of Cambridge, who herself attended a service with cadets in London.
