Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski backs plan for relief road

Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski has come out in favour of controversial and long-awaited plans to give the town a north west relief road.

Mr Kawczynski said that after talks with both sides of the debate he was convinced that the project was "essential" to the future of the town and the wider region.

He now plans to lobby the Treasury for the estimated £100 million needed to build the road, which would would provide the fourth and final part of the Shrewsbury bypass.
