Revellers urged to control drinking
Emergency services had a busy start to one of the most challenging weekends of the year as thousands of people celebrated the start of the final weekend before Christmas.

But 'Mad Friday' passed off without major incident in the county.
And revellers were today urged to control their drinking as ambulance staff work round the clock on one of the busiest weekends of the year.
Sergeant Lee Johnson, from Oswestry Police Station, kept people updated via Twitter on the incidents taking place in the town over the night.
There were also updates from Shrewsbury's street pastors and staff from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Mr Johnson said incidents included a drunken man being hit by a car but not seriously injured, a drunken man thrown out of a pub after trying to "kick the doors in" and two men arrested for drunk and disorderly after wanting to fight with officers. He added: "Town very busy tonight, lots of good humour but some silliness too."
Shrewsbury Street Pastors reported a busy night but no major incidents. They said the town was busy until around 3am.
West Midlands Ambulance Service is expecting to deal with a spike in calls.
