Friends and relatives of Sarah Edwards donned pink T-shirts to run the market Drayton 10K in her memory.

Sarah, from Market Drayton, died in December last year from an acute asthma attack.

A group of friends and family, including her father Nick Edwards and best friend Francessca Lee-Overy, ran the race and held a barbecue after the event to raise money for Asthma UK.

Sarah's mum Karen said: "It was a really special day for us and the fundraising was going really well. We will know how much we have raised in the coming days."

Sarah, who was a fashion buying student at Manchester Metropolitan University, died at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford after collapsing in a pub in Market Drayton earlier in the evening.

The race was one of a number of events which attracted big crowds over the weekend, with others including Shropshire Truck Show and Shrewsbury Regatta.
