Organisers of this year's Market Drayton Carnival have issued an appeal to residents to help make sure this year's event goes ahead.
The Market Drayton Carnival Committee said plans were already well under way for this year's event, which will take place on the weekend of June 30.
They said there were many ways for people to get involved, including entering a float or competing to be the carnival queen, prince or princess.
People can also help by attending a fundraising event, assist on the day, or enter their voluntary group to be this year's nominated charity.
Roy Aldcroft, former mayor of Market Drayton, said: "The carnival is an economic asset to the town.
"It provides a showcase for local producers and retailers who take part, as well as providing extra trade to shops, pubs and restaurants as thousands come into town for the day."
People who want to help shape the event are also being invited to join the committee.
Chairman Lee Ridgway said: "Being involved is a two-way thing.
"Whilst contributing to the community, committee members also learn new skills or find novel ways of using their existing skills."
Committee members ages range from 15 to 66 and include school students, parents, local business people and those who have retired.
Organisers say a lot of money is required to pay for entertainment and equipment, which the committee raise from sponsors, fundraising activities, fees from stallholders admission charges to the field event after the parade.
A not-for-profit company, Market Drayton Carnival Ltd takes responsibility for, and oversees financial and other administrative formalities. The company would welcome one or two new directors to join them.
