A haul of jewellery worth thousands of pounds was stolen during a day-time raid on a home near Newport.
A haul of jewellery worth thousands of pounds was stolen during a day-time raid on a home near Newport.
The house in Robin Lane, Edgmond, was ransacked by thieves after they forced their way into the home between 12.15pm and 9.15pm on Friday.
A red jewellery box, a platinum diamond bracelet, a gold emerald bracelet with a stone on top, a gold half sovereign, a brooch which is described as having a pointed pearl flower with tiny stones, a heavy gold wedding ring and a diamond and emerald cluster ring were among the items stolen. An assortment of brooches was also taken.
Denise Wakefield, a spokeswoman for Telford police, said: "The burglary happened during the day while the homeowners were out. The stolen jewellery is of sentimental value to the victim."
