Award-winning singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding, who hails from the south Shropshire border, is to perform at the royal wedding after-party, it was reported today.
She was reportedly asked to appear by Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are firm fans of the 24-year-old Brit-Award-winning artist.
Ellie is to perform Elton John's hit Your Song, which was released as a single in conjunction with the John Lewis Christmas 2010 advertising campaign and reached number two on the singles chart.
Sir Elton was one of the favourite artists of William's mother Princess Diana and he rewrote his hit Candle In The Wind as a tribute to her.
Ellie reportedly received a personal invitation from the soon-to-be royal newlyweds to play at Buckingham Palace, following tomorrow's nuptials. She has won awards, including the BBC Sound of 2010 poll and was also awarded the Critics' Choice Award at the 2010 Brit Awards.
Her hits include Starry Eyed, Guns and Horses and The Writer.
An insider said: "Ellie was knocked off her feet when she received the invitation to perform for Prince William and Kate - and was so hugely honoured when they said they were both big fans of her music.
"She still can't quite believe that she will perform for the Royal newlyweds, all the young Royal guests and their friends."
