Campaigners battling to reopen public toilets in a Mid Wales town are holding a series of meetings and drop-in sessions to drum up support.
A firm of consultants has been hired by Llanidloes regeneration company Llani Ltd to look at the effect the closure of two sets of public loos in Llanidloes has had on local businesses and tourism.
The consultation follows a successful bid by Llani Ltd to obtain £27,500 worth of funding from the Welsh Assembly's environmental quality board to reopen the toilets in Great Oak Street and investigate the possibility of reopening the facilities at Bwlch-y-Gle.
Claire Jones, of Llani Ltd, said: "Cambrian Research will be holding a combination of meetings and drop-in sessions for both local businesses and members of the public with an interest to share their views on the situation."
Jon Matthews, from Cambrian Research, will be on the steps of Llanidloes Town Hall on Saturday, from 10am-noon, and in the Town Hall committee room on Monday, from 2-5pm, to hear people's views.
Miss Jones said: "This consultation process is essential if we are to prove to the Welsh Assembly Government there is a clear economic case for the toilets to reopen."
Miss Jones said a group of business people and residents had formed a new group, the Town Hall Toileteers Association, to help take the process forward.
