Mini digger traps man

A man had to be freed by firefighters after becoming trapped under a mini digger.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to the Rack Lane area of Whixhall shortly after 4pm on Saturday, to lift the man from under the machine. He was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured leg.

Daphne Lewis, spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The county Air Ambulance was on route to the incident but fortunately it was not required and the casualty was taken by land ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
