Man killed as crash closes A529 near Market Drayton
A man died today after the car he was driving left a road near Market Drayton and hit a tree.
In 1245 King Henry III granted a charter for a weekly Wednesday market, giving Market Drayton its current name. The market is still held every Wednesday and attracts residents from all over Shropshire. The town is also home to Muller dairy and sausage maker Palethorpe's bakery.
