Farmer told to pay nearly £40,000 for polluting quarry lagoon with dairy slurry
A farmer has been ordered to pay almost £40,000 after allowing dairy slurry to pollute a quarry lagoon.


In 1245 King Henry III granted a charter for a weekly Wednesday market, giving Market Drayton its current name. The market is still held every Wednesday and attracts residents from all over Shropshire. The town is also home to Muller dairy and sausage maker Palethorpe's bakery.
