Shropshire man in mammoth swimming challenge in honour of Second World War hero
A Shropshire lifeguard is paying homage to a distinguished war hero by raising money to buy back his medals.
In 1245 King Henry III granted a charter for a weekly Wednesday market, giving Market Drayton its current name. The market is still held every Wednesday and attracts residents from all over Shropshire. The town is also home to Muller dairy and sausage maker Palethorpe's bakery.
