Management team steps down at Shropshire non-league club - including former Wolves striker
Dave Lloyd and Adam Proudlock had only been in place since the beginning of May.
Market Drayton Town are on the lookout for a new manager less than three months into the new season.
It was announced earlier today that Dave Lloyd and former Wolves striker Adam Proudlock - Lloyd’s assistant - had ‘stepped down from their respective positions’.
The Gingerbread Men are two places and seven points clear of the North West Counties League Division One South relegation zone after 14 matches of the new campaign.
A club statement on Facebook read: “Market Drayton Town FC can confirm that First Team Manager Dave Lloyd, Assistant Manager Adam Proudlock and their backroom staff have stepped down from their respective positions.
“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Dave, Adam and the entire backroom team for their hard work, dedication and commitment to Market Drayton Town during their time at the club.
“We wish them all the very best for the future.
“The club will announce details of a new management team in due course.
“To our supporters, thank you for your continued loyalty and unwavering support. We ask that you continue to stand with the club as we look ahead to the next chapter in our journey together.
“The club will make no further comment on this matter at this stage.”
Drayton were knocked out of the Edward Case Cup by Alsager Town on Tuesday - extending their winless run to nine matches in all competitions.
They host Crewe - the side directly beneath them - on Saturday.
