Christmas shopping and street food coming to Shropshire with new winter festival
It’s part of the university’s 125th birthday celebrations
The organisers of Shrewsbury Oktoberfest and Shropshire Petal Fields are helping to bring a brand new winter festival to Shropshire this festive season.
A new festive event is coming to Harper Adams University this December, bringing Christmas lights, seasonal shopping and street food to the campus as the university celebrates its 125th anniversary.
The Newport university is inviting families, friends and the wider community to embrace the festive season at a special celebration on Wednesday, December 9.
Running from 3.30pm to 8.30pm, the event will transform the university campus into a festive wonderland, combining Christmas shopping, delicious street food, hands-on activities and spectacular light projections onto Foundation House.

The new event is being organised in collaboration with Shropshire Festivals, the team behind popular events including Shrewsbury Food Festival, Shrewsbury Oktoberfest and Shropshire Petal Fields.
Visitors will be able to browse a collection of up to 50 exhibitors, offering inspiration for Christmas gifts, from handmade items and unique local products to seasonal favourites.
The event will also feature a variety of street food stalls, giving visitors the chance to enjoy a range of tasty treats while exploring the festive surroundings.
Families can also take part in hands-on festive activities, with plenty to keep younger visitors entertained throughout the evening.
A festival spokesperson said: “Whether you're planning a family afternoon out, catching up with friends or looking to get into the Christmas spirit, the Festive Celebration at Harper Adams University is the perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy the magic and make memories together.”
