Happy Mondays legend Shaun Ryder tells wild tales to Shropshire crowd on tour
Frontman of Manchester band was making first of two appearances in the county on his book tour.
Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder told wild stories from his rollercoaster career in the first of two Shropshire shows on his autumn tour.
Festival Drayton Centre in Market Drayton was packed for the latest leg of Ryder’s Q&A show to promote the release of his new book, 24 Hour Party Person.

He revealed how the Happy Mondays were formed, the tensions and disagreements which led to the band splitting in the late 1980s, and his later career including international chart success with Black Grape, and his move into reality TV.
Ryder answered questions from the audience in the second half of the show, including inside stories on the filming of Celebrity Gogglebox, his fascination with UFOs, and some of the adventures he’s had touring the world with the band.

He will also be at The Edge in Much Wenlock on November 7, where a few tickets are still available.
The promoters say: "Fans can look forward to a carnival of excess, wild tales, and improbable truths, as they enjoy the talents of a unique rock'n'roll star dubbed Britpop's answer to WB Yeats."
