crime_scene_tape1.jpgPolice are still hunting a motorist involved in a hit-and-run accident in which a motorcyclist died. Detectives said they had received an "excellent response" following the crash on the A458 on Sunday.

But the driver of a metallic grey-blue or silver-blue BMW 3 series which left the scene on the Bridgnorth to Stourbridge road has still not come forward.

The motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified but is in his 50s, died at the scene at Mose, on the crossroads to Claverley and Quatt, at about 12.15pm.

It is believed the BMW would have been significantly damaged in the crash with the silver Triumph Dayton motorcycle.

The car, believed to be about three to five years old, would have damage to its rear offside panels.

Sergeant Keith Field, of Bridgnorth Police, said today: "We have received a superb response from the public with at least 10 callers making contact. These will be a big help.

"However, it is still vitally important for people to call us if they possibly spotted the BMW, or have information concerning its whereabouts. We have had sightings of the BMW as far as Alveley down the A442."

Meanwhile, a woman remained in a critical but stable condition in intensive care today following a crash on the A49 at Leebotwood, near Shrewsbury, on Friday.

A Toyota collided with a Hyundai just after 3pm.
