Crowds flocked to last year's Ludlow Green Festival

The 21st annual Ludlow Green Festival will take place on Sunday, between 10am and 4pm, moving into July instead of being held on its traditional date of the August bank holiday weekend.

Organiser Tish Dockerty said the festival celebrated the many activities of Ludlow environmental group Ludlow 21 and this year those involved wanted to get together a "sustainable map" of the town showing where to find ongoing green initiatives in and around Ludlow.

She said: "It promises to be another fun filled Sunday in the centre of the town.

"With a strong emphasis on family participation, there will be plenty of activities for free to involve children. They can take part in making swift bird boxes, kids’ incredible edible cookery workshops, make bug-hotels, produce their own bunting from re-purposed material, take part in woodland stories and have their faces painted.

"As well as these activities Castle Square will be brimming with stalls exhibiting, selling and demonstrating green products and services.

"A key focus for the festival will be the sustainable map of Ludlow, which will detail all green activities that are currently taking place in the town and its environs with an opportunity to add your ideas of what you would like to see in the future.

"The grown-ups will also have the chance to try out a range of electric bikes and you can also take the chance to have a guided tour of the local organic allotments.

"There will be music throughout the day with a host of live performances, from young singer songwriter Jess Prentice, to performances from the Crooked Steeple Morris dancers and lots of great tasting local food and drink, including a Ludlow Brewery bar. Come and join Ludlow’s Green Revolution!" She said.
