The former world super-middleweight champion will be auctioning a large vinyl poster signed by Ricky Hatton at Hall's auctioneers in Shrewsbury tomorrow.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The poster, which is 6ft tall and nearly 4ft across, was to promote Hatton's "Hitman Invasion" fight with Luis Collazo in 2006.

It will be Telford-based Richie's third auction to raise money for cancer charities in memory of his father Len, who died in July last year after a long battle with the disease. Last month he raised £320 for 11-year-old cancer patient Matthew Cooper when a signed photograph of Richie's friend and fellow fighter Joe Calzaghe was sold.

Tomorrow's sale begins at 10am, and the poster – which is lot number 100 – is expected to go under the hammer between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Richie, who handed over his memorabilia to the Shropshire Star to be sold in a series of auctions, said he had chosen Macmillan because of the vital support it provided for both patients and their families.

"People don't realise how much the other family members go through, and having the Macmillan nurses there to provide support and information means such a lot," he said.

The auction will be held at Halls' headquarters in Bowmen Way, Battlefield.
