Ludlow midfielder Brendan Pratt has been ruled out through injury for the last two games of the campaign after undergoing an operation on his foot.

Pratt missed last weekend's West Midlands One 2-1 victory at home to Kingswinford and has since has gone under the knife to correct the problem.

That will see him sit out Saturday's trip to Stafford and the final game of the campaign with Tamworth.

Midfielder Matt Hall is ready to rejoin the squad after he was unavailable for the Kingswinford match, with saw Ludlow climb back into third spot.

Vice-captain Stuart Richards said: "It's nice to be back in third position and hopefully we can stay there now. I think we need to win another to be sure.

"It's important for both of us to win this game as Stafford can still overtake us, so we are expecting a tough test, but we beat them last time.

Ludlow trailed to Taran Singh's strike for Kingswinford before two goals in the last five minutes which saw them turn the tables.

James Pratt flicked a short corner into the bottom corner for the equaliser before Andy Richards grabbed the winner.

Richards said: "We didn't give up right to the last whistle and they panicked after we scored, we hounded them and managed to get the winner."

In West Midlands Two, Newtown finished their season with a flourish in second place with a 9-0 hammering of Barlaston away from home.

Andy Denham's side ran riot with the skipper scoring, while Richard Jones netted four times. John Atkinson, Dave Perkins, Rhys Philips and Joel Gill also struck.

Whitchurch ended on a damp squib with a 3-2 defeat at Atherstone Adders, Ben Lea twice replying for the visitors, who finished third-bottom.

In the Cheshire League Division Two, Oswestry have one-re-arranged fixture left to play, against Bangor City at home, on a date yet to be decided.
