Builth leave it late for derby point as Boundford strikes again
Builth Wells snatched a 97th minute equaliser to come back and claim a point in their Mid Wales derby clash against Radnor Valley - with the goals flowing across a number of games in the Ardal North East League.
Llanrhaeadr continued their good form - while Llandrindod Wells patchy run continues - and elsewhere Knighton Town returned to winning ways with a thumping victory over Llangollen.
But the late drama came at The Bypass - as Builth Wells who have had poor start to the campaign and had won just two of their first nine games heading into the weekend - left it very late to deny Radnor Valley all three points.
Joey Price's 19th minute spot kick had put the home side in front - and when Price fired home just after the break it looked as though the points would be staying with Valley.
But the mixture of a red card for Jack Clarke and an inspired change in bringing on Chris Bartholomew saw the Bulls fire back into the game.
The substitute netted in the 66th minute to make it game on - before popping up yet again seven minutes into added time with virtually the last kick of the game to snatch a point for his side.
Llanrhaeadr have fully recovered from their early season stumble and won for the fourth time in five outings and the third game in the row - beating Rhos Aelwyd 4-2.
Luke Williams put the visitors into a 25th minute lead - with a mad three minute period that saw two goals and a missed penalty.
Billy Clarke put Llanrhaeadr back on level terms before Will Howard missed the chance to turn the game around as he was denied from the spot.
And then there was another spell of goals just after the hour mark - as Danny Harrison put the Wrexham side back in front, only for Will Roberts-Morris and Howard to put the Waterfallmen 3-2 in front with two quick fire goals.
Scott Reeves the missed the chance to draw level with a minute left of normal time as he missed a spot kick - before Clarke wrapped up the victory and bagged his second in injury time.
Knighton got back to winning ways and it was their talisman veteran striker who led the way in a 5-1 demolition of Llangollen Town.
The Radnorshire side dominated from the off as Tom Wozencraft put them ahead - but the chance to double the lead was spurned when skipper Luke Boundford missed from the spot.
However, he had another chance eight minutes later when the home side were awarded another penalty.
Boundford made no mistake this time - and four minutes later it was 3-0 and virtually all over as Callum Stead got in on the act.
Into the second period and Boundford made it four with his ninth league goal of the season, before Whalen Mwebe scored what turned out to be a mere consolation - as Wozencraft completed his brace with a fifth late in the game.
Stuart Williams netted a late goal for Llandrindod Wells but they were beaten narrowly at home to Cefn Albion.
Elsewhere, Kerry were beaten for the third straight week as they languish down in 13th placed, just four off the bottom of the table after a 3-0 loss on the road at Penycae.
