Wolves welcome their biggest crowd for 18 months to Molineux tomorrow with the message: "Let's do it for the fans."

More than 27,000 are due to attend the home clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

It's Paul Lambert's first Molineux match in charge of Wolves – while Steve Bull and Andy Thompson will be presented on the pitch to mark their 30th anniversary since joining the club.

Half-price tickets have boosted numbers, while Wednesday will bring around 2,500 fans from Yorkshire.

Striker Jon Dadi Bodvarrson said the players were keen to show what they could do in front of a big crowd.

"I'm looking forward to it," he said.

"We're eager to show to the fans that we're better than recent performances.

"We want to give the fans something to be happy about. We will try to do our best and hopefully we'll get a win."

Wolves are winless in eight and currently sit just two points above the Championship relegation zone.

After tomorrow's game they travel to QPR next Thursday before hosting Fulham.

Lambert said he wanted his players to ignore the 'razzmatazz' surrounding the game – and give the fans something to cheer.

"The game's always about players and fans, the people that watch it. It's not about me, just because it's my first home game," Lambert said.

"For the players I think it'll be great, a full house and we have to be ready for that.

"There'll be nearly 30,000 here and the onus is on the home team.

"We have to get that rapport with the supporters. They'll come in their numbers and get right behind us.

"I know the razzmatazz that comes with my first game and Steve Bull and Andy Thompson's anniversary.

"But when it kicks off we're up against a good side. We have to play the game and not the occasion.

"I'm looking forward to it – the reason being the crowd.

"It'll be a great atmosphere. If we can give them something – which we have to – then it'll be really exciting."
